Cradle Box

This box contains a cradle structure designed to support a medieval diptych open at a slight angle. The cushioning of the walls is built up to different thickness in order to support the uneven shape of the diptych. The fit of this box is slightly looser than some book boxes to allow for slight movement of the wood, which may occur naturally due to changing environmental conditions, without causing strain. Padding in the lid of the box prevent excess movement of the diptych’s joint.
